National Data Protection Regulations in Germany:
In addition to the GDPR provisions, national data protection regulations in Germany also apply, particularly the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). The BDSG includes specific regulations on the right to access, the right to deletion, the right to object, the processing of special categories of personal data, processing for other purposes, transmission, and automated decision-making, including profiling. Moreover, it governs data processing for employment relationships (§ 26 BDSG), particularly concerning the initiation, performance, or termination of employment relationships and the consent of employees. Additionally, state data protection laws of the individual federal states may apply.
Security Measures
We implement technical and organizational measures, in accordance with legal requirements and taking into account the state of the art, implementation costs, and the nature, scope, and purposes of processing, as well as the likelihood and extent of the threat to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, to ensure an appropriate level of protection. These measures include, in particular, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data by controlling physical and electronic access to data, as well as securing the availability, transfer, and separation of data. Furthermore, we have processes in place to ensure the exercise of rights by affected individuals, data deletion, and responses to data security threats. We also consider the protection of personal data during the development or selection of hardware, software, and procedures in line with the principles of data protection, through technical design and privacy-friendly settings.
SSL Encryption (https):
To protect your data transmitted through our online offering, we use SSL encryption. Encrypted connections can be recognized by the "https://" prefix in your browser's address bar.
Disclosure and Transfer of Personal Data
In the course of processing personal data, we may transfer or disclose the data to other entities, companies, legally independent organizational units, or individuals. Recipients of this data may include payment institutions in the context of payment transactions, IT service providers, or content providers integrated into our website. In such cases, we comply with the legal requirements and conclude appropriate contracts or agreements with the recipients of your data to ensure the protection of your data.
Data Processing in Third Countries
If we process data in a third country (i.e., outside the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA)), or if data processing occurs as part of the use of third-party services or disclosure/transfer of data to other persons, organizations, or companies, this will only take place in compliance with the legal requirements.
Subject to explicit consent or mandatory legal requirements for transfer, we process or allow the processing of data only in third countries that offer an adequate level of data protection, including U.S. processors certified under the "Privacy Shield," or based on specific safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission, certifications, or binding internal privacy policies (Art. 44 to 49 GDPR).: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/international-dimension-data-protection_de).
Use of Cookies
"Cookies" are small files that are stored on users' devices. Cookies can store various types of information. These can include, for example, language settings on a website, login status, a shopping cart, or the point where a video was watched.
Cookies are typically used when a user's interests or behavior (e.g., viewing specific content, using features, etc.) are stored in a user profile on individual websites. Such profiles are used to display content that matches the users' potential interests. This process is also called "tracking," i.e., monitoring users' potential interests.
We also consider other technologies that fulfill the same functions as cookies (e.g., when users' data is stored using pseudonymous online identifiers, also referred to as "user IDs").
If we use cookies or "tracking" technologies, we will inform you separately in our privacy policy.
Notes on Legal Bases:
The legal basis for processing your personal data using cookies depends on whether we ask for your consent. If this is the case and you consent to the use of cookies, the legal basis for processing your data is the consent provided. Otherwise, the data processed using cookies will be processed based on our legitimate interests (e.g., for the economic operation of our online services and their improvement) or, when the use of cookies is necessary, to fulfill our contractual obligations.
Revocation and Objection (Opt-Out):
Regardless of whether the processing is based on consent or legal permission, you can revoke any given consent at any time or object to the processing of your data through cookie technologies (collectively referred to as "Opt-Out"). You can initially express your objection through your browser settings, for example, by disabling cookies (which may also limit the functionality of our online services).
An objection to the use of cookies for online marketing purposes can be made through various services, especially in the case of tracking, via the U.S. site http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU site http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ or generally at http://optout.aboutads.info.

Provision of Online Services and Web Hosting
To provide our online services securely and efficiently, we use the services of one or more web hosting providers from whose servers (or servers they manage) the online services can be accessed. For these purposes, we may use infrastructure and platform services, computing capacity, storage space, database services, as well as security and technical maintenance services.
The data processed in the context of providing the hosting services may include all information concerning users of our online services that arise during use and communication. This typically includes the IP address, which is necessary to deliver the content of online services to browsers, and all inputs made within our online services or from websites.
Email Sending and Hosting:
The web hosting services we use also include the sending, receiving, and storing of emails. For these purposes, the email addresses of recipients and senders, as well as other information related to email transmission (e.g., the involved providers), and the contents of the emails are processed. The aforementioned data may also be processed for spam detection.
Please note that emails are generally not encrypted when sent over the Internet. While emails are usually encrypted during transit, they are not encrypted on the servers from which they are sent and received unless an end-to-end encryption method is used. Therefore, we cannot assume responsibility for the transmission path of emails between the sender and receiver on our server.
Collection of Access Data and Logfiles:
We ourselves (or our web hosting provider) collect data on each access to the server (so-called server log files). Server log files may include the address and name of the retrieved websites and files, the date and time of the retrieval, data amounts transmitted, a message about successful retrieval, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), and typically IP addresses and the requesting provider.
Server log files can be used for security purposes, e.g., to avoid server overloads (particularly in the case of malicious attacks such as DDoS attacks) and to ensure the server's load and stability.

Online Marketing
We process personal data for online marketing purposes, which primarily includes the presentation of advertising and other content (collectively referred to as "content") based on users' potential interests and measuring their effectiveness.
For these purposes, so-called user profiles are created and stored in a file (so-called "cookie") or similar methods are used, which store relevant information about the user for the presentation of the aforementioned content. This information may include, for example, viewed content, visited websites, used online networks, as well as communication partners and technical information, such as the browser used, the computer system used, and usage times. If users have consented to the collection of their location data, this may also be processed.
The IP addresses of users are also stored. However, we use IP masking methods (i.e., pseudonymization by truncating the IP address) to protect users. In general, no clear user data (e.g., email addresses or names) is stored within online marketing procedures, only pseudonyms. This means we and the online marketing service providers do not know the actual identity of users but only the data stored in their profiles. The information in the profiles is typically stored in cookies or through similar methods. These cookies can later be read out on other websites that use the same online marketing procedure and analyzed for content presentation purposes, as well as supplemented with additional data and stored on the online marketing service provider's server.
Exceptionally, clear data may be assigned to the profiles. This is the case if users, for example, are members of a social network whose online marketing procedure we use, and the network links users' profiles with the aforementioned information. Please note that users may enter into additional agreements with providers, e.g., by consenting during registration. We generally only have access to summarized information about the success of our advertisements. However, we can check, through so-called conversion measurements, which of our online marketing procedures led to a "conversion," e.g., to a contract conclusion with us. Conversion measurement is used solely to analyze the success of our marketing efforts.
Notes on Legal Bases:
If we ask users for their consent to use third-party providers, the legal basis for processing data is consent. Otherwise, the users' data is processed based on our legitimate interests (i.e., interest in efficient, economical, and user-friendly services). In this context, we would like to refer to the information regarding cookie use in this privacy policy.
Processed Data Types:
Usage data (visited websites, interest in content, access times), meta/communication data (device information, IP addresses).
Affected Individuals:
Users (website visitors, online service users).
Processing Purposes:
Tracking (interest/behavior-based profiling, cookies), remarketing, visit action evaluation, interest-based and behavior-based marketing, profiling (creating user profiles), conversion measurement (measuring the effectiveness of marketing efforts).
Security Measures:
IP masking (pseudonymization of IP address).
Legal Bases:
Consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR), Legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR).
Right to Object (Opt-Out):
We refer to the privacy notices of the respective providers and the opt-out possibilities specified by them. If no explicit opt-out possibility is provided, you can disable cookies in your browser settings. However, this may limit the functionality of our online services. We therefore also recommend the following opt-out options, which are offered collectively for specific areas:
a) Europe: https://www.youronlinechoices.eu
b) Canada: https://www.youradchoices.ca/choices
c) USA: https://www.aboutads.info/choices
d) Global: http://optout.aboutads.info
Presences in Social Networks
We maintain online presences within social networks to communicate with users active there or to offer information about us.
We point out that data of users may be processed outside the European Union. This could present risks to users, as it may make the enforcement of user rights more difficult. Regarding US providers certified under the Privacy Shield or offering comparable guarantees of a secure level of data protection, we point out that they commit to complying with the EU's data protection standards.
Furthermore, user data within social networks is typically processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, based on user behavior and resulting interests, user profiles can be created. These profiles can then be used to display ads within and outside of the networks that are presumed to match users' interests. For these purposes, cookies are typically stored on users' computers to save their behavior and interests. Additionally, user profiles may include data that is independent of the devices users use (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged into them).
For a detailed presentation of the respective processing forms and the opt-out options, we refer to the privacy policies and information of the operators of the respective networks.
Even in the case of information requests and the assertion of data subject rights, we point out that these can be most effectively asserted with the providers. Only the providers have access to the users' data and can take appropriate actions and provide information directly. If you need assistance, you can contact us.
Processed Data Types:
Usage data (visited websites, interest in content, access times), meta/communication data (device information, IP addresses), contact data (email, phone numbers), content data (text inputs, photographs, videos).

Provision of our online services and user friendliness, contractual services and service, contact inquiries and communication, direct marketing (via email or post), tracking (interest/behavior-based profiling, cookies), interest-based and behavior-based marketing, profiling (creating user profiles), feedback (collecting feedback, e.g., via forms).
Legal Bases:
Legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR), consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR).
Data Deletion
The data processed by us will be deleted as required by law once the permissions granted for processing are revoked or other permissions expire (e.g., if the purpose of processing no longer exists or the data is no longer necessary for that purpose).
If the data is not deleted because it is required for other lawful purposes, its processing will be restricted to these purposes. This means the data will be locked and not processed for other purposes. This applies, for example, to data that must be stored for commercial or tax reasons or if its storage is necessary for asserting, exercising, or defending legal claims or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person.
Further details on the deletion of personal data may also be provided within the individual privacy notices of this privacy policy.
Changes and Updates to the Privacy Policy
We ask that you regularly inform yourself about the content of our privacy policy. We will adjust the privacy policy as soon as changes to our data processing activities make it necessary. We will inform you as soon as any changes require your involvement (e.g., consent) or other individual notifications.

Definitions
In this section, you will find an overview of the terms used in this privacy policy. Many of the terms are derived from the law and are primarily defined in Art. 4 GDPR. The legal definitions are binding. The following explanations are mainly intended to assist with understanding. The terms are listed alphabetically.
Processing: "Processing" refers to any operation or series of operations performed with or without automated means on personal data, such as collecting, analyzing, storing, transmitting, or deleting.
Affiliate Tracking: Affiliate tracking involves links that refer users to websites with product or other offers, and the linking websites can receive a commission if users follow these so-called affiliate links and later take advantage of the offers (e.g., purchasing goods or services).
Visit Action Evaluation: "Visit action evaluation" (English: "Conversion Tracking") refers to a method to determine the effectiveness of marketing efforts. Typically, a cookie is stored on users' devices within the websites where marketing actions take place and then retrieved again on the target website.
Interest-Based and Behavior-Based Marketing: Interest-based and/or behavior-based marketing refers to determining potential user interests in ads and other content as precisely as possible based on their prior behavior (e.g., visiting specific websites, purchasing behavior, or interaction with other users), which is stored in a profile.
Conversion Measurement: Conversion measurement is a method to determine the effectiveness of marketing actions. Typically, a cookie is stored on users' devices within websites where the marketing efforts take place and then retrieved again on the target website.
Profiling: "Profiling" refers to any automated processing of personal data used to analyze, evaluate, or predict certain personal aspects related to a natural person (e.g., interests in specific content or products, click behavior on a website, or location).
Remarketing: "Remarketing" or "Retargeting" refers to the practice of noting which products a user showed interest in on a website to remind the user of those products on other websites, e.g., in ads.
Reach Measurement: Reach measurement (also referred to as web analytics) is used to analyze visitor traffic on an online service and can include the behavior or interests of visitors in relation to certain information, such as website content.
Tracking: "Tracking" refers to the ability to track users' behavior across multiple online services. Typically, behavior and interest information is stored in cookies or on servers of tracking technology providers (so-called profiling).
IP Masking: "IP Masking" is a method where the last octet, i.e., the last two digits of an IP address, are deleted so that the IP address can no longer serve as a unique identifier for a person.
Notes on Data Processing Related to Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited. If the data controller for processing is outside the European Economic Area or Switzerland, the Google Analytics data processing is done by Google LLC. Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited are collectively referred to as "Google."
Google Analytics uses "cookies," text files that are stored on the visitor's computer and allow analysis of the website usage. The information generated by the cookie about the visitor's use of the website (including the truncated IP address) is usually transferred to a Google server and stored there.
Google Analytics is used on this website exclusively with the "_anonymizeIp()" extension. This extension ensures the anonymization of the IP address by shortening it, preventing any direct identification. For more information on data usage by Google, settings, and opt-out options, please refer to Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and settings for displaying ads by Google (https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated).
